"Makeup that lets skin look like...skin!"

On today's episode of: "Is it worth the hype?"

Glossier is undoubtedly one of the makeup indie brands I've been keeping my eye on. After the cloud-paint tubes and glossy lip glosses, the overwhelming success of millennial brand Glossier, it took storm in social media and caters A-list models it made a lot of young women really look up after this brand since the "No make-up makeup look" and "Flushed look" trend became the popular makeup look among the majority of adolescents and teenagers.

"It's your skin, but better!"

Claims:

hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist tested, non-comedogenic, paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty free

What does it actually makes it different from other concealer?

Nothing, really. Just like any other brand that will claim it's "Special" or some sort, we'll see. However, as far as I am concerned, it should be able to live up the claims "It's your skin, but better!" phrase, because that'd be grand for me.

How to use:

Dab a generous amount of concealer from the pot using a finger and on the necessary spot where it needs concealing. Can be used with brushed or sponge. According to their website, "Add more for extra coverage-- It's buildable".

Packaging:

Front Cap wit the "G" logo

Bottom label with manufacturing details

Packaging was really simple, i like it. It's made of glass, reminds me of MAC concealer pot and ABH Dipbrow. Nothing too fancy nothing too simple. It can still sit in your vanity and look modest.

I got mines in "Medium"

Other shades as follows:

Key Ingredients:

Beeswax & Microcrystalline Wax: Gives concealer a super elastic consistency which allows it to move with your expressions, not stiffen and cake.

Avocado & Jojoba Oil: Nourish skin, prevent water loss, and give a natural dewy finish.

Cocoa Butter: A natural fat full of the good stuff that promotes skin elasticity and suppleness.

Adaptable Mineral Pigments: Merge seamlessly with the widest range of skin tones for natural-looking coverage.

Full Ingredient list:

Octyldodecanol, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate, Polyethylene, BeesWax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Microcrystalline Wax, Jojoba Esters, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Mica, Silica,Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

The test

Before Concealer is applied

After Concealer is applied

I'm not convinced on the results so, i tried it my under my eye:

Left to right: Without concealer, Applied concealer and Blended concealer (without setting powder)

Benefits:

-Buildable

-Enhancing

-Flexible

-Nourishing

What more?

Well, what can I say? It DOES makes it look like your skin but better. It basically enhance the texture of your skin plus it hides your dullness, under eye circles and blurs your pores (moderately but not completely). It didn't change much of my complexion under my eyes it just literally concealed the dull parts and it still looks like my skin.

The concealer is supple and kind of damp (in a refreshing way) when you dab them onto your skin and it doesn't look like you're faking a "natural" look (even though a product is involved).

What's in it for you?

My thoughts, if you're a fan of heavy glam makeup, this isn't the product you'd have to go for however, if you're looking for a natural, every day, dewy or "glass skin" look, this is the product for you. It conceals without making your face looking like you're wearing a heavy makeup.

💡Tip: For Oily or combination skin, set it with loose powder only (not powder foundation) otherwise it'll start to crack and cake-y throughout the day. For dry skin, use moisturizer beforehand. Not advisable to use as eyeshadow primer. It will slide off your eyes.
